It feels so strange to be posting about this right now but it made my day this morning and took my mind off everything for a second and I’m so grateful.

A few months ago, I wrote a flash fiction piece called Last Night in Halifax. It’s a work of fiction but the character of Celi is based on one of my best friends. A longer version of it will appear in my upcoming Guernica Editions collection Things That Cause Inappropriate Happiness

Anyway, this morning I found out it placed second in an international flash fiction contest by Prime Numbers Magazine Press 53 in North Carolina, and I’m so grateful. I can’t wait to share the story with you next year. It’ll appear in their Issue on Jan 1 2024 and in my new collection which is out in March you can read more here: https://www.press53.com/flash-fiction-contest (I'm so excited to read the other stories too)
