A list of my favourite Canadian Short Stories on the 49th Shelf

It's genuinely hard for me to contain my enthusiasm for short stories. It's my preferred form to write and to read, and I was super honoured to get to write about 28 Canadian short story collections that inspired me, in terms of subject matter, characterization, voice and craft. I actually found it it hard to choose, I could have easily kept going. I can't recommend these collections enough, with love and admiration to Lisa Moore, David Bezmozgis, Zoe Whittall, Heather O'Neill, Elyse Friedman, Rachel Rose, Carmella Gray Cosgrove, Carrianne Leung, Leesa Dean, Kathy Friedman, Ayelet Tsabari, Anosh Irani, Amy Jones, Mona Awad, Megan Gail Coles, Carleigh Baker, Michael Christie, Shaena Lambert, Neil Smith, Tea Mutonji, Chava Rosenfarb, Shashi Bhat, Saeed Teebi, Zalika Reid Benta, Lisa Foad, Alexander Macleod, Kris Bertin, and Susan Sanford Blades. Every month is short fiction month in my house. If you're missing any of these, I highly recommend checking them out. Thanks so much again to the wonderful Kiley Turner and the amazing 49th Shelf for having me. You can read the article here:
