I’m really excited to share that my first graphic novel, which I wrote and illustrated, call Call Me Vidal: the sketchbooks and diaries of Vidal Ben Soussan will be published by the amazing At Bay Press in the fall of 2016 🩷📚🎉
Art has always been a huge part of my life, and of my writing process, and being able to focus on it in itself was an incredible experience. I’ve also always wanted to capture my late Sufta’s and her siblings’ Sephardic childhood experiences, which they described with such vibrancy and magic, and I’ve always loved Paris and its beautiful artistic community. It was amazing to learn about Jewish artists of that period, to learn in detail about the resistance movement. I’m so excited to be working with the wonderful At Bay Press team and I can’t wait to share this story with you next year 🧡🧡🧡📚🎉
