Lately I’ve been feeling so grateful .I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be part The University of Winnipeg
Canlit Writing, Publishing and Pedagogy Conference organized by the wonderful Lindsay Wong and her colleagues last month. It was my first time in Winnipeg, and I loved it.
I also had the chance to be part of two incredible panels, Moving Beyond Genres: how to transition and submit while moving beyond one’s initial or primary genre, with the amazing Leesa Dean Martha B. Batiz and Jeff Miller and Defiant, Daring and Distasteful: Writing Complex Women that Defy Stereotypes and Readers Expectations with the incredible Corinna Chong Leesa Dean and Martha Batiz
It was amazing to be around such brilliant writers, to hear people speak, and read, to buy books and have them signed, to hear insights and experiences. It was one of the best experiences I've had all year, just incredible.
I was also so grateful to see A Place For People Like excerpted in Judith Magazine
And this morning, it was so lovely to hear that A Place For People Like Us was a finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards for Religion, Fiction. I'm so grateful to see it being recognized in the US, and to my amazing editor and publisher, Michael Mirolla.
