It was so much fun doing this interview and having this conversation with the wonderful and generous Jess Taylor for Jess’s amazing Stop the Doomscroll Series. Thank you so much to Jess and to everyone who was there to listen to us talk (and read from A Place For People Like Us) 🩷🧡 🌈

Jess, in addition to writing incredible books, including the amazing short story collections Pauls, and Just Pervs, and the incredible novel Play, ( https://jesstaywriter.com/about) also gives so much to the writing community. Jess's interview was so in depth, it was a privilege and a joy to be part of it. I can't wait to chat more.

In Jess's words:

A Place for People Like Us examines the reasons people are drawn to orthodox and conservative religion and how people make religion and spirituality work for them. Queerness, love, and freedom are sometimes (but not always) at odds with ways of life that promise safety, belonging, and community. If you liked our talk, please buy Danila's book and donate to Rainbow Railroad (see my link in bio)

During our chat, we wandered into the land of short stories and started exciting hinting at our next collections. We're thinking about doing another collab in March about short stories. What would you want to see? Any short story questions you'd want answered? (let Jess or I know! we'd love to talk about it)

The charity I chose is Rainbow Railroad, which does incredible work and you can donate via Jess's Instagram or here: https://www.rainbowrailroad.org/donate
